About Us

Why We Exist

Bringing a child into the world is an extraordinary journey—one filled with overwhelming joy, excitement, and unexpected emotions. After delivering my first child, I found myself missing the closeness of pregnancy.

While I cherished every moment holding my newborn, I also grieved the transition, feeling as though I had no time to process it. No one had prepared me for this complex mix of emotions.

One in a Million.

Challenges of Postpartum

In the first weeks at home, exhaustion set in. My husband returned to work, and I was left navigating the challenges of nursing, newborn care, and the well-meaning but often insufficient support from friends and family.

I felt selfish for wanting help with meals yet guilty for wishing they were more tailored to our normal diet. At the same time, my regular doctor visits had suddenly ended, leaving me without the care and conversation I had grown to depend on.

I longed for someone to check in on me—not just out of obligation, but out of genuine care.

A New Perspective

As I welcomed more children, I tried to prepare better each time—stocking up on freezer meals, planning for rest—but it never seemed like enough. Then, before the birth of my third child, I met a woman from a culture where postpartum rest was the norm. She would have four months to heal, with her mother by her side to cook, care for her, and ensure she could bond with her baby.

I was in awe. Rest for four months? Having constant support? It felt like an unattainable luxury. But it planted a seed in my mind—what if postpartum care could be different? What if new mothers weren’t expected to “bounce back” immediately, but instead were encouraged to honor the incredible transformation their bodies had undergone?

Redefining Postpartum Strength

The strength of a new mother isn’t in how quickly she resumes normal life. Strength is in allowing herself to rest, heal, and nourish both body and mind. Strength is in embracing the transition, in bonding with her newborn, and in giving herself permission to experience the ups and downs of this new season.

Postpartum Rest exists to redefine strength— not as rushing back to routine, but as intentionally embracing recovery, nourishment, and the beauty of this transformative time.We are here to support, empower, and encourage every mother to rest as she deserves to.
